幾個禮拜前也不知那根筋不對勁，竟然買了個 domain name，算起來這應該是我買過的第三個 domain name 了。記得第一個 domain name 還要價幾十塊米國大洋，沒想到現在只要 5 塊錢就有了，還真是蠻便宜的……

本來買了也就一直擱著沒理它，上個星期心血來潮借了朋友的主機（實在懶得再在家裡架主機了），開始又玩起 blog 程式。由於號稱台灣目前三大 blog 系統的 MT、WP 和 pLog，在以前都曾經裝過，因此這次就想試試其他的…

利用工作之餘的時間，斷斷續續裝了 4 套 blog 程式：韓國製的 Tatter Tools 、Drupal、Nucleus 以及 Textpattern。

Tatter Tools 是因為蠻欣賞它的 lightweight 設計和許多美美的樣版。Drupal 則是被它所謂強大的功能挑起了好奇心（還真是超強的！）。至於後兩者都算是誤打誤撞：恰巧都有漂亮到令人驚豔的網站版型：Nucleus 和 Textpattern！！尤其是 Joshuaink 的網站，一點連結下去，瞬間反應只有是倒吸一口氣，然後就呆若木雞……

於是，就這麼被吸引開始安裝使用 Textpatten。經過這兩三天的小小試用，感覺是到目前為止，我所裝過自由度最高的 blog 程式。版面要怎麼擺弄調整，唯一的限制大概就是使用者的創意了吧！程式也非常小巧靈活，其彈性、簡潔及容易使用的特性還真讓我聯想到 Blogger……

好久沒有玩得這麼興致盎然了，真的很好玩……

新購書籍

今天逛書店，又忍不住買了兩本書，果真是惡習難改……

• 黑皮膚，白面具

以精神醫學為主要工具，探討如何將西方以「個體發生學」為基礎的心理分析轉往政治、經濟、文化、價值與語言等集體意識與無意識的層次，並據此指出白人歐洲文明在黑人身上強加了一種偏差，就是「黑人心靈經常只是一種白人的建構」。

準此，法農特別敦促黑人應拋棄「白色面具」，號召被剝削的殖民地人民實行種族的族類與種族團結；他甚至接受了暴力這種不可避免的行動思想，把殖民地黑人的全部仇恨引向反對白人的鬥爭。儘管他可能自認這樣的學說是反種族主義的，但事實上 這種革命性的論述中，卻包含從種族角度來對統治者加以分類的做法，以及殖民地力量在族類與種族基礎上聯合起來的思想，堪稱是廿世紀後殖民論述的先聲。

• 台灣百年曙光 — 學術開創時代調查實錄

RK Launcher

又一個新的 Dock 軟體：PK Launcher

自從 Mac 的 OSX 開始，那個又酷又炫的 Dock 就一直是 PC 世界裡，某些 Mac 介面愛好者垂涎的目標之一！於是就有高手不斷想辦法在 PC 上仿製，從最早的 YzDock、MobyDock 到 Stardock 的 ObjectDock，無一不是力求維妙維肖。而 ObjectDock Plus 則更是除了單純仿製外，還別出心裁加入更多獨特功能（像是標籤式 Dock…）

不過可惜的是 YzDock 因為 Apple 官方的壓力，被迫停止開發。所以正常管道下是無從搜尋下載得到的。至於 ObjectDock 雖可免費下載（Plus 是要錢的），但我個人是覺得在執行效能和記憶體使用上，稍嫌不佳。

今天無意間倒是發現又有高手釋出這套新的 Dock 工具軟體：

Launch shortcuts with style!

Description
RK Launcher is an application that will allow the user to have a visually pleasing bar at the side of the screen that is used to quickly launch shortcuts. With support for themes, PNG's and ICO's and with smooth amazing animations, RK Launcher is a versatile and great taskbar replacement.

Zooming
When the mouse is moved over the dock, all the icons will automatically grow: this is called zooming. The advantage of zooming is that the user will be able to have a very small strip of shortcuts that virtually take no precious screenspace. Only when interaction with RK Launcher is required, the shortcutbar will automatically zoom in to allow the user to pick the icon he wants.

Taskbar
Minimized windows will normally be shown on the Windows Taskbar. RK Launcher provides an eye-pleasing replacement for the taskbar: whenever a window is minimized, it will automatically be placed on the shortcutsbar and will be represented by a small image of the contents of this window. This way, the user will quickly see which windows are minimized.

New Applications
It's always hard to track newly installed applications: where did they go? To solve this problem, RK Launcher will automatically place a shortcut on the launcher when an application is started for the first time.

Customization
All parts of RK Launcher can be fully customized. From the number of icons that gets zoomed on mouseover to the background and icons; the user can set it all as he likes.
With support for themes, users can exchange their favourite looks and change the look of the launcher with one click.

Important
This is the first official release of RK Launcher.

Notes
Because it is still in development and not all requested features have been implemented yet I chose to call this release 0.3 Beta.

剛下載來試用一下，感覺還蠻不錯的。尤其是那個 Taskbar 的 Minimized windows 功能倒是挻新奇有趣的……

Extreme Democracy

在 Joi Ito's Web 看到 Extreme Democracy published 這則日誌，馬上就被標題吸引住…

Extreme Democracy, a collection of papers including "mostly" my Emergent Democracy paper has now been published thanks to the hard work of Jon Lebkowsky and Mitch Ratcliffe.

不太確定這本書（概念）與《草根媒體》(We the media) 是不是有某些關連？不過今天白天的工作有點累，精神其實相當不濟，連前言都沒辦法定神閱讀下去，只好先把連結記在這裡……

其實之前在 Schee.info 那裡看到「讓審議民主的種子飛揚起來」的 Blog 連結時，心裡頭就掛著是不是該找些相關的資料來看？！更傷腦筋的是《草根媒體》也才勉強看完第一章而已……唉~~人二腳，錢四腳，我看書本恐怕又再多二隻腳吧 :(

Flickr badge

原來 Flickr 還有這玩意兒！

其實之前就在某些 Blogs 上看過，但也只是一眼晃過，沒什麼特別留意。今天倒是好奇順手點了連結，原來這叫 Flickr badge，只要在 Flickr 網站上幾個下一步點一點就生出來了。於是也學人家弄了一個，暫且就放右邊的 sidebar 試看看…

很壞很壞的駭客

在摩托學園看到這篇轉貼的文章，實在是笑到不行！太神奇了，這位駭客先生……

陰道獨白

無意中在聯合新聞網看到這則新聞：巴西小鎮 放嘿咻假

在保守的巴西東北部小鎮埃斯坡塔蒂娜，私密的「性」話題鮮少是新聞，不過當局為了鼓勵民眾婚後勇於追求「性福」，明定5月9日為「高潮日」(orgasm day)，全鎮放假一天，希望藉此讓夫婦關係更加美滿。

不過比較引起我注意的倒是節日當天會演出的美國劇作家伊芙．恩絲勒名劇「陰道獨白」。

於是利用 Google 搜尋了一下資料，找到了幾個中文連結：

GUI 的前世今生

真的是一篇很不錯的文章：A history of the GUI

從 1930 講到 90 年代，看看電腦 GUI 一路走來的演變過程。其中有些還曾經在我的電腦駐足過（像是 GeoWorks、Windows 386、OS/2、BeOS……），看著都忍不住開始有點亂發思古之幽情……

不過，奇怪的是怎麼沒提到 DESQview 呢？我印象中記得 PC Magazine 還曾經把它視為 MS Windows 的競爭對手做了一篇評比專文（嗯，好像 GeoWorks 也在列），不曉得還找不找得到這篇文章……

於是求助 Google 大神，又搜尋到這個網站：GUIs
